Abstract artists have a powerful skill in hand, a visual language conveying raw emotions to the canvas with abandonment of standard forms and imagery; they can reach out to a large audience and instil their message through the use of pigment, shape and texture alone.

 

Cubism, Neoplasticism or Abstract Expressionism are styles the average person may not connect to famous work of art but most of us surely heard of the famous cubist – Pablo Picasso or abstract expressionist - Jackson Pollock.

 

 

Abstract art and abstract artists often came under fire by not adhering to the more conventional methods of expressing oneself through art, as their work was not as tangible or easily understood as a picturesque landscape or a portrait. Abstract art however can be seen as the liberation of the artists mind from the boundless constraints and inhibitions put upon them by the education and conditioning gained from the society in which they grew up.

 

Abstract paintings or sculpture will always evoke a response from the viewer, whether it’s revulsion, anger, confusion, amazement or inner peace. The great gift of abstract art is the ability to trigger a wide range of expression from the viewers themselves, which makes it a powerful tool for interaction.

Eunah Cho has chosen to dedicate her skills as an artist towards creation of abstract art. She is a graduate of the famous Kyunghee University of Art in South Korea and currently lives in Canada.
